Domestic poultry are grouped by species, aside from chickens, which are split into large fowl and bantams. These groups are further split out into classes by origin (for large fowl) or characteristics (for bantams). Classes of ducks and geese are differentiated by size, and turkeys, are differentiated by traits of the varieties.
